Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' occupational therapy needs to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized intervention plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address each student's unique needs, with a focus on promoting independence and functional skills.
  • Educate students and their families about occupational therapy, its benefits, and effective management techniques to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and ensure a cohesive approach to education and therapy.
  • Provide direct therapy to students in individual or group settings, using a variety of techniques and strategies to promote engagement and motivation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student conditions, treatment plans, therapy sessions, and progress to inform future treatment decisions.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide recommendations for student support to ensure a comprehensive approach to education and therapy.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy to ensure the delivery of evidence-based care.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to occupational therapy assistants as needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience in occupational therapy, with a focus on working with students in a school setting.
  • A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Full accreditation (OTR) is preferred, but not required.
  • A valid state license or eligibility for licensure in the state of employment.
