Trinity Industries, Inc. is on the lookout for a talented and seasoned Lead Systems Architect to manage our server operations effectively.

The Lead Systems Architect will be tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the data center and on-premises IT infrastructure, ensuring their smooth and dependable operation. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of data center management, with a primary focus on storage and server oversight, backup and recovery processes, as well as network management. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertinent to data center operations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage various components of data center infrastructure, including EXSI/VMWARE hypervisors, Windows/Linux operating systems, and storage management.
  • Ensure optimal availability and performance of the data center.
  • Guarantee that data center operations adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Plan, install, and maintain the organization's physical computing infrastructure, encompassing hardware, operating systems, networks, and backup systems.
  • Administer all facets of Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID environments, including supporting functions such as DNS, GPO, DHCP, SSO, MFA, and conditional access.
  • Diagnose IT challenges within the data center and physical infrastructure of manufacturing facilities.
  • Support change and release management processes for both physical and virtual environments.
  • Provide cost assessments and design proposals while collaborating with vendors.
  • Engage in the administration of a hybrid cloud environment (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of pertinent experience in server/storage management, IT infrastructure, or similar roles.
  • Data Center Operations: Expertise in managing data center facilities, including servers, storage, networking, and data protection systems.
  • Network Administration: General understanding of network protocols, routing, and security measures.
  • Security: Knowledge of data center security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Proficiency with backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Capability to monitor data center performance and enhance resource utilization.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills for troubleshooting issues and devising efficient solutions.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a team, manage projects, and make strategic decisions.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to the rapidly evolving data center landscape.

Certifications (Optional but advantageous):

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Network Virtualization.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – Data Center Virtualization.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Microsoft Azure Certification.
