This role involves the assembly of mechanical components, primarily utilizing pneumatic tools, along with occasional use of hoists and cranes.
The Assembler III is responsible for constructing units for final assembly and preparing them for shipment to clients. This position involves receiving specific work assignments with limited supervision and resolving most issues independently.
All tasks are subject to final inspection and testing to ensure that the finished product meets client specifications while managing labor and material costs effectively.
The Assembler is expected to adhere to the company's Six Sigma principles consistently.Key Responsibilities:
1. Review job orders, whether written or verbal.
2. Organize final assembly components to ensure accurate construction.
3. Assemble structural components to radiator units by:
- Constructing frames (bolted).
- Installing fans, if applicable (bolted with critical measurements).
- Combining core and tank from the Cooling Section with the frame and fan assembly.
- Conducting tests on motors/fans (if applicable).
- Preparing units for shipping.
4. Inspect products for defects.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, tools, and equipment daily.
6. Provide training to Assembler II - Back Section.
7. Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
8. Confirm that all work complies with ISO and Quality standards.
Physical Requirements:
Maximum lifting capacity: 100 pounds (infrequently, with assistance), 50 pounds (occasionally), 25 pounds (frequently). Maximum moving capacity: 300 pounds with assistance.
Physical Condition:
Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting; infrequent sitting.
Working at heights up to 20 feet.
Vision Requirements:
Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.
Work Environment: Work is conducted in a metal fabrication and assembly shop, as well as indoor and outdoor storage areas.
Exposure Risks:
Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, sharp/heavy materials, and inclement weather.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes are required.
Position Qualifications:
Key skills and knowledge include:
1. Ability to interpret job requirements, shop drawings, and blueprints.
2. Proficiency in measuring build tolerances for optimal fit and operation.
3. Understanding of core materials, structural metals, and related materials (on-the-job training).
4. Equivalent skills and knowledge to Assembler III - Cooling Section (on-the-job training).
5. Competence in assembly using personal tools and shop equipment (on-the-job training).
6. Awareness of occupational hazards and adherence to safe work practices.
7. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing or a related field is preferred. Experience in heavy assembly, crane operation, large pneumatic tools, and complex mechanical assemblies is beneficial. The company provides training on specific job requirements.
Education:
Related technical training (high school or beyond) is preferred but not mandatory.
Certifications:
Forklift operator certification is required.
