Position Overview:
The Imaging Services Supervisor at Houston Methodist is tasked with overseeing the operational and functional elements of the imaging division. This role entails providing leadership, direction, and support to the team, ensuring accountability for departmental performance and outcomes. The Supervisor is pivotal in maintaining quality standards, operational excellence, and contributing to the achievement of strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Responsible for the selection, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of department personnel. This includes fostering staff development and mentoring, while striving to meet or exceed departmental turnover goals.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ensures effective communication and leadership within the team by conducting regular meetings, providing performance feedback, and recognizing employee contributions to achieve desired results.
  • Operational Planning: Organizes daily operations, sets priorities, and establishes functional standards to ensure optimal service delivery and high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitors and revises safety protocols and compliance with accreditation standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Financial Oversight: Assists in budget development and ensures departmental operations remain within financial parameters, optimizing resource utilization and minimizing unnecessary expenditures.
  • Innovation and Growth: Identifies and implements innovative practices to enhance departmental operations, actively participating in process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in the field, with at least one year in a managerial capacity within a healthcare setting.
  • Certifications: Current BLS certification and at least one credential in a recognized imaging modality.

Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrates effective communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills. Proficient in utilizing information systems to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with safety standards.
