About the Role:

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations, working closely with medical personnel to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position patients, provide immobilization devices, and shield as needed to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Select and operate equipment for specific procedures, adhering to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Collect relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms, following operational procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Process and reconstruct images using available methods, maintaining an orderly x-ray room and ordering supplies as directed.
  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers with administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and providing patient instruction.
  • Rend services and/or assistance to patients, adapting to individual needs and abilities.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification, Diagnostic Radiography License, and AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
