We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at the Woodbridge Department of Emergency Services.
Job Summary:The EMT will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need. This includes responding to emergency calls, assessing patients, and administering medical treatment as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency calls and assess patients to determine the nature and extent of their injuries or illnesses.
- Administer emergency medical care, including opening and maintaining airways, providing artificial ventilation, and performing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
- Stop bleeding, treat shock, immobilize fractures, and provide initial care for poisoned and burn patients.
- Search for medical identification emblems to provide emergency care.
- Extricate patients from entrapment and prepare them for transportation in an ambulance.
- Report to the dispatcher the nature and extent of injuries to ensure prompt medical care on arrival.
- May request advice from hospital physicians or emergency department staff.
- May deliver newborn infants.
- Current and valid EMT Certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Health.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
