About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Mount Sinai St. Luke's. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating specialized MRI imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images, as directed by physicians.
  • Perform MRI studies of anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established standards and procedures.
  • Apply technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patient needs.
  • Position patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study.
  • Provide patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures.
  • Evaluate images for technical acceptability and ensure images are transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all studies performed are completed in IDX (Radiology Information System) in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain radiology room and equipment cleanliness, including removal of soiled or dirty linen.
  • Accurately record all required patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System).
  • Schedule exams into IDX (Radiology Information System) as required.
  • Inform supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist physician directly as required.
  • Call for in-patients as required.
  • Supervise radiology students assigned to clinical area.
  • Perform related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
  • Maintain safety standards via strict adherence to safety guidelines to prevent introduction of ferromagnetic material into scan room.
  • Protect self, patients, and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
  • Attend in-services and other professional development meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and M.R. physics.
  • Licensing and Certification: Name: Radiologic Technologist. Issuing Agency: Department of Health / Office of Professions.
Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $62.00 - $62.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
