About the Role:

Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) is a leading travel intelligence company that accelerates the growth of global air travel by delivering forward-looking travel data, flexible distribution services, and innovative industry solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Architect to join our team and design and evolve data frameworks, standards, and principles that significantly impact the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our ecosystem.

In this role, you will work closely with leaders across the business and within business technology to foster technology innovation, identify opportunities for technical efficiencies, and evolve best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and frameworks
  • Keep current with the newest tools, technologies, ideas, patterns, and methodologies
  • Effectively communicate these insights and concepts to key stakeholders
  • Assist with the selection of all data-related technologies and develop standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for those tools
  • Actively review technological changes in data management and pursue an understanding of the organization's business plans and strategies
  • Evaluate the value of these trends to the organization and present the information to management and other team members
  • Work closely with product teams, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify and meet data requirements
  • Partner with others in business technology to develop and maintain plans to ensure the availability and integrity of data in the event of a disaster or system failure
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 8 years of experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse technologies
  • 5 years of proven implementation experience with scalable cloud data platform technologies (Snowflake, AWS preferred)
  • 5 years of experience with databases and big data technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • 3 years of experience in data lake design and architecting streaming/event-driven data platforms, addressing data lineage and quality issues, and familiarity with modern data operating models
  • Proficiency in sourcing, transforming, and processing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • Ability to influence technology strategy and best practices across peer and leadership groups in an agile/rapid development environment
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for PCI and GDPR compliance
  • Experience with machine learning/deep learning is a plus
  • Work experience in the air travel industry is a plus
