About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Brisbane, California.

Job Summary

As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. You will work under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Radiology/Imaging Services to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for examinations.
  • Select equipment and adjust controls according to examination specifications.
  • Start equipment and record diagnostic data.
  • Monitor sound wave displays and adjust transducer positions as needed.
  • Photograph images of organs and remove strip printouts for permanent records.
  • Key test data and patient information into computer systems.
  • Orient new hires and perform other related duties as necessary.
Requirements
  • Equivalent of three years of continuous ultrasound experience within the last six years.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Three certifications from the following list: Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Pediatric Sonography Certification, Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer Fetal Echocardiography Certification, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echocardiogram Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn, Basic Life Support.
