Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating and administering respiratory therapies, and monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response and notify providers as necessary.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
