The Medical Support Specialist will provide high-quality patient care and support services to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent patient outcomes, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.

Responsibilities

* Conduct pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight checks for patients
* Perform vascular access cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law
* Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD)
* Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and report any concerns to the registered nurse or supervisor
* Assist in collecting information for infection control audits and participate in reinforcing infection control education for patients and families

Requirements

* High school diploma or GED required
* Successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and CPR certification
* Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
