About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Glass Installation Specialist to join our team at Walters & Wolf, a leading Specialty Construction Company. As a Glass Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and replacing glass and glazing products in various commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Glass and Glazing Products: Install all types of glass and glazing products, including storefronts, commercial buildings, and interior partitions.
  • Curtain Wall and Partition Installation: Install curtain wall and partition systems for interior and exterior buildings.
  • Glass Replacement and Fabrication: Replace broken glass in storefronts and commercial buildings, and fabricate and install extruded metal tubes, mullions, and other glass-related products.
  • Sealant Application: Apply sealants to ensure a watertight and airtight seal.
  • Tool Operation: Operate various tools, including glass cutters, putty knives, hack saws, drills, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, files, caulking guns, and pry bars.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate power tools, such as drill motors, rotor hammers, chop saws, screw guns, and glass lifting apparatus, as well as equipment associated with glass and frame installation, including cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and swing stages.
Requirements
  • Union Membership: Must be an active member of the Northern California Glaziers Union.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and explain documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, in English.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach above the head with hands and arms, lift, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk, and hear.
  • Lifting and Moving: Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with and around other construction trades.
  • Travel: Willing to travel varied distances to job sites and locations.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in high places or conditions.
