Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Adams County, WI. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities, ensuring a healthy and productive work environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure all County facilities and individual offices, unlocking, checking, and re-securing buildings as needed.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and patrons by removing hazards such as snow, ice, salt, sand, and clutter.
  • Handle, stock, and distribute chemicals and supplies in a safe manner.
  • Clean, sanitize, stock, and maintain public and employee restrooms and break areas.
  • Sweep, dust mop, mop, and mechanically scrub floors and stairwells.
  • Vacuum carpets and floor mats.
  • Perform light building maintenance, remove snow, rake, and mow, paint when necessary, perform equipment repair and product assembly.
  • Collect, sort, and remove trash and recycling.
  • Clean, dust, and disinfect fixtures, walls, furniture, appliances, etc.
  • Complete project work, including stripping and waxing floors, extracting carpets and mats, window cleaning, and deep scrubbing of buildings.
  • Travel and transport supplies between facilities.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Obtain CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen training within one year of hire.
  • Valid driver's license in the State of Wisconsin.
Working Conditions

This work requires the regular exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. Work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, lifting and repetitive motions, frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, and pushing or pulling. Occasionally requires standing, climbing or balancing, and tasting or smelling.
