Your Impact

As a GIS Cadastral Mapping Specialist, you will play a critical role in interpreting and incorporating various source documents, including as-built drawings, construction plans, and legal descriptions, into our GIS system. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our mapping data, supporting our clients' strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Interpret and incorporate source documents into GIS using coordinate geometry (COGO), digitizing, and GPS methods.
  2. Revises existing Assessor GIS maps or draws new maps using Esri ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Desktop software to reflect changes in developments, subdivisions, and easements.
  3. Maintain comprehensive base maps for assessment and other purposes.
  4. Provide information on assessment maps, mapping processes, and procedures, as well as ownership history and technical aspects of map preparation.
  5. Identify, reconcile, and translate legal descriptions into precise scale drawings of property.
  6. Resolve discrepancies in title, erroneous, and incomplete property descriptions and maps through research and communication with the county Assessor.
  7. Follow quality assurance and quality control processes, performing routine data management tasks to ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
