Position Overview:
The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty role at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. This position will focus equally on Research (50%) and Instruction (50%).
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teaching courses that delve into the advancements in biotechnology.
- Establishing a prominent research program recognized nationally and internationally, supported by external funding.
- Providing leadership in research areas that are crucial for the advancement of biotechnology beyond traditional applications, including materials, chemicals, agriculture, sustainability, energy, and environmental solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Ph.D. in Biological Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, or in biological sciences with a relevant engineering background.
• Proven excellence in teaching, advising, and curriculum development.
• A strong record of securing extramural grants and fostering research collaborations.
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in both research and teaching.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a commitment to working with diverse groups.
Desired:
• Recognition as a distinguished scholar with a substantial record of productivity.
• Experience in developing and teaching innovative courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• A history of mentoring and advising students in research initiatives.
