About the Role

The Lead Radiology Technologist is a key member of the Radiology Department at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing the technical and support staff, ensuring the quality of their work, and contributing to the effective management of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Radiologic Technologists and clinical staff to ensure the quality of their work.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the department workflow to ensure completion of work assignments.
  • Perform day-to-day departmental functions and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the effective management of the department.
  • Consistently produce films of optimal diagnostic quality on patients of all ages.
  • Administer contrast media in accordance with the contrast policies & procedures.
  • Follow Patient Care and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide full support by performing job-related duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an America Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet requirements for Texas certification of Medical Radiologic Technologist of an education-equivalent basis.
  • Five years of experience in an acute-care setting as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
