Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of equipment and machinery within the plant. This involves completing maintenance assignments to build, repair, and maintain all equipment in good operating condition, while minimizing associated costs and downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Completes projects with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment downtime and lost production capability.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation, dismantling and examining them to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective parts, and sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, cutting torches, and welders.
  • Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed, improving reliability and uptime of all equipment.
  • Operates forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as needed, and researches supplies, parts, and tools needed to complete work orders.
  • Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts, and contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, and PM logs.
  • Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company, and follows applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping, and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical School Degree or equivalent experience
