Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Clear Creek ISD. As a key member of our special education department, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and guidance to our occupational and physical therapists, assistants, and interns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to occupational and physical therapists, assistants, and interns in evaluating, planning, and providing direct and consultative services to students with special needs.
  • Assist with the review and update of special education operational processes, including the development of budgets and purchase requisition recommendations.
  • Facilitate the recruitment and retention of occupational and physical therapy staff, including the interview process, mentoring, and staff development.
  • Oversee the provision of services by certified occupational therapy assistants, students, and interns, ensuring compliance with state and local guidelines.
  • Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (preferred).
  • Valid Texas license as an occupational therapist granted by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated competency in occupational therapy evaluation and therapy procedures, education of diverse student populations, and human development and learning theories.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adjust to change in a positive manner.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an occupational therapist.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and a high level of emotional control under stress. The position requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and moving therapy equipment, desks, and other educational materials. District-wide travel is also required.
