The Sales Associate for Construction Equipment plays a crucial role in enhancing the Holt Group Inc brand within a designated geographic area through direct engagement with customers. This position collaborates closely with account managers to drive both new and used equipment sales across the Building Construction Product (BCP) range, including machinery, work tools, and service plans. Additionally, the role encompasses various sales-related activities such as assisting walk-in customers, executing marketing strategies, showcasing products, and maintaining retail inventory displays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhances the retail customer experience by effectively managing the sales process, display inventory, lead generation, sales initiatives, and customer interactions in partnership with marketing and external sales teams.
  • Identifies, develops, and nurtures new prospects and existing clientele for both new and used equipment through proactive customer engagement and technology-driven solutions.
  • Independently prepares and communicates pricing, financing options, and sales/rental agreements, while collaborating with external sales representatives.
  • Supports sales efforts through account management, outreach initiatives, influencing walk-in customers, and managing deals from inception to closure.
  • Guides customer purchasing choices by highlighting features and advantages using Caterpillar's value proposition.
  • Showcases BCP inventory through effective use of showroom displays, marketing materials, websites, and literature.
  • Conducts job responsibilities at various Holt facilities and off-site locations, including customer offices and job sites.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Aims to meet and surpass individual and departmental targets for sales, quotes, customer satisfaction, and prospecting on a monthly basis.
  • Maintains comprehensive sales activity records within Holt Group Inc's CRM system.
  • Oversees sales order processing and documentation.
  • Requires consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and complies with all company policies and standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with construction and rental industry equipment.
  • Understanding of basic operations and applications for Caterpillar and Non-Cat Products.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes for machinery and attachments.
  • Awareness of merchandising programs with HOLT and Cat Finance.
  • Understanding of business accounting principles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and software.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret data.
  • Capability to interact with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ability to comprehend written information and spoken communication.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license is required.

  • Extensive travel within the assigned region may be necessary.
