The Inpatient Rehabilitation units are dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals recovering from significant health challenges, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, and spinal cord injuries.

This rehabilitation program is a collaborative effort between two leading healthcare organizations, ensuring that patients receive exceptional care from a team of highly skilled physicians, nurses, and therapists.

With plans for expansion, the program will soon accommodate a greater number of patients, enhancing its ability to serve those with complex medical needs.

Role Summary:

The Physical Therapist within Rehabilitation Services is responsible for assessing and treating patients across various specialized programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages in self-directed professional development.
  • Delivers high-quality patient care while considering individual age, development, and cultural needs through proficient clinical practice.
  • Conducts thorough assessments using diverse evaluation methods.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of insurance protocols relevant to rehabilitation services.
  • Documents patient interactions comprehensively and promptly, adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develops personalized therapy goals based on assessment findings and patient requirements.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to establish effective care plans tailored to patient capabilities.
  • Implements therapeutic interventions aligned with established goals and adjusts as necessary based on patient progress.
  • Ensures accurate billing practices in compliance with ethical standards for various insurance providers.
  • Educates patients and families about the objectives and procedures of physical therapy, including home care strategies.
  • Oversees the work of support staff, ensuring quality care delivery and co-signing documentation as needed.
  • Regularly re-evaluates patients to monitor progress towards therapeutic goals.
  • Supervises physical therapy students as assigned.
  • Actively participates in professional growth and contributes to team development initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with administrative staff to optimize scheduling and productivity.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Engages in ongoing staff meetings and training sessions.

Additional Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Michigan. Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury populations is preferred.
