Position Summary
The Quality Engineer 3 will play a pivotal role in enhancing quality standards and processes within our organization. This position is focused on fostering a culture that prioritizes exceptional quality and the elimination of defects.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive initiatives for quality enhancement and maintain a robust Quality Management System, including the development and revision of procedures.
- Participate in proactive measures such as pFMEA and near-miss analyses to identify potential quality risks.
- Oversee the maintenance and advancement of testing apparatus, ensuring ongoing validation of testing equipment.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is accurately maintained and updated in a timely manner.
- Lead and educate teams on root cause analysis methodologies, including fishbone diagrams and the 5 Whys technique, to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Supervise and train incoming personnel and auditors, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Provide essential support to production teams and ensure compliance with established systems.
- Review and approve engineering and documentation changes to maintain quality integrity.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Assist management and supervisors as required.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and high-level problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in ISO 9001 and 14001 environments.
- Familiarity with AS 400/MAPICS or similar database systems.
- Proficient in gage tracking tools and development of pokeyokes.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, with experience in creating charts and tables.
- Ability to develop complex documents and forms within a business system framework.
- Preferred experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Experience as an internal or lead ISO auditor is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years in an engineering role within a high-volume HVAC manufacturing setting is required. Certification in ISO 9001/14001 is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
