Position Overview:

The Addiction Recovery Counselor (CADAC) plays a crucial role in guiding individuals through their journey of recovery from various addictions, including substance abuse and behavioral issues. This position focuses on providing therapeutic support and modifying detrimental behaviors, while also extending counseling services to the families of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work Hours: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social or health services is required.
    • Degree must be obtained from an accredited institution.
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Valid counseling license or certification is mandatory (CADAC, LCSW, LSW).
    • CPR certification and de-escalation training are essential (training provided upon hire).
    • First aid certification may be necessary based on state regulations.
  • Essential Duties:
    • Engage in patient treatment planning and ensure continuity of care.
    • Conduct group and family therapy sessions under supervision, documenting as required.
    • Co-facilitate assigned therapy sessions and assist in behavior modification.
    • Perform initial and follow-up assessments for patients.
    • Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
    • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care and incidents.
    • Act as a liaison between patients and referral sources.
    • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
    • Plan aftercare for patients to support ongoing recovery.
    • Coordinate with insurance providers as needed.
    • Deliver case management services to ensure personalized care.
    • Assess patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs are required.
    • Educate patients and families about substance use disorders and related issues.
    • Facilitate educational workshops within the facility and the community.
    • Collaborate with self-help groups and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) professionals.
    • Conduct ongoing evaluations of chemical dependence services.
    • Assist in training new clinical staff and interns, providing guidance and support.
