ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Contribution
Acts as a technical lead and validates design outputs.
Reviews all project documentation for compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance standards.
Proactively identifies and resolves unprecedented design challenges, critical issues, and/or unique conditions.
Functions as a specialist in applying advanced concepts and methodologies.
Establishes focus areas and priorities for design to ensure technological excellence.
Conducts Power System Studies for MV and LV Systems using Power Tool or ETAP or equivalent.
Designs, reviews, and/or modifies Control and Protection schematics for Medium/Low voltage Switchgear.
Designs, reviews, and/or modifies Protection communication network topology.
Proficient in EPLAN or AUTOCAD.
Engages in technical writing for specifications and functional descriptions.
Customer and Sales Engagement
Collaborates with clients to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback to drive improvements.
Finalizes 'fail-safe philosophy', 'secure-by-design principles', and other key concepts during project kick-off and design freeze meetings.
Participates in project discussions and resolves outstanding technical issues to fulfill contractual obligations.
Assists in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects and programs.
Technical Leadership and Knowledge Sharing
Implements design thinking and excellence concepts in projects, including modeling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
Conducts project peer reviews and utilizes checklists for design verification in accordance with applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
Shares experiences and contributes in workshops focused on engineering design, tools, and processes.

Mentors engineering colleagues on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from previous projects.

Processes and Tools
Develops, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and tools.
Ensures compliance of engineering activities with safety and cybersecurity regulations and contractual requirements.
Identifies inefficiencies in processes and tools, proposing ideas for enhancements.
Risk and Opportunity Management
Evaluates and addresses technical risks and opportunities.
Contract Management

Ensures that the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the project aligns with contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements, avoiding Project Left-Over Material (PLOM).

Identifies and implements variation requests to support contract claims upon project manager approval.
Planning and Control
Creates work plans and cost estimates for the project portfolio in consultation with respective project managers.
Ensures quality and timely execution of projects within the targeted budget.
Supply Chain Management
Prepares RFQs to meet contractual requirements and provides technical evaluations of suppliers' proposals.
Collaborates with the supply chain function and project managers to meet contractual obligations.
Manufacturing and Testing
Coordinates with manufacturing and testing teams to ensure designs are appropriately manufactured and tested.
Ensures that engineering deliverables are updated as built.
Commissioning and Service

Coordinates with commissioning and service teams to ensure designs are properly installed and commissioned, updating engineering deliverables post-installation and commissioning as required by the contract.

LICENSE TO OPERATE / CORE VALUES

Reports any integrity, compliance, safety, cybersecurity, quality, contract, program, and cost issues to management or project managers for resolution.

Ensures that engineering activities and deliverables comply with safety and cybersecurity regulations and contractual requirements.
Ensures that the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations.
Identifies and implements change requests based on project manager approval.

Ensures the project meets the technical requirements of the contract and is technically completed as part of contract closure activities.

COLLABORATION / LEADERSHIP

Works closely with project managers from contract receipt to closure to meet technical contract requirements.
