Vocal Jazz Ensemble Instructor

The Contra Costa Community College District is in search of an adjunct faculty member to lead our Vocal Jazz Ensemble course (MUSIC 135) within the Music department. We seek candidates with a robust background in directing students through the exploration, rehearsal, and public presentation of traditional vocal jazz ensemble repertoire, particularly focusing on a cappella formats.

The course convenes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 PM to 3:50 PM in Room M-101 of the Music Building.

Students will engage in public performances and additional rehearsals throughout the semester, with specific times and locations to be determined.

Upon successful integration into our system, adjunct faculty may also have the opportunity to teach other part-time classes within the Music department or serve as substitute instructors.

For Music Discipline:
Master's degree in music OR Bachelor's degree in music along with a Master's degree in humanities OR an equivalent qualification.

For Commercial Music Discipline:
Any bachelor's degree coupled with two years of professional experience OR any associate's degree with six years of professional experience.

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
No specific credentials required.
