Position Overview

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Radiological Project Management Specialist to join our Radioactive Material Disposition & Security Department. Our team operates on a 9x80 schedule, providing a balanced work-life environment with every other Friday off. Opportunities for remote or hybrid work arrangements may be available for this role. You will report directly to the Department Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain control over technical, scheduling, and budgetary frameworks throughout all project phases.
  • Support project initiatives by addressing ongoing logistical requirements for equipment and personnel.
  • Oversee the delivery of support services and products to clients, adhering to program and laboratory standards.
  • Coordinate task activities, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all project phases.
  • Effectively manage and administer project tasks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate asset management, program logistics, procurement activities, and assist clients with system inquiries and process documentation.
  • Develop and standardize operational processes to meet project demands, including ordering, purchasing, receiving, tracking, and organizing equipment and software.
  • Formulate plans for new project opportunities and recommend optimal business practices.
  • Create essential documents such as execution plans, project outlines, and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify shared needs and develop standardized solutions for high-quality service delivery.
  • Establish processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to assist team members with onboarding and offboarding, including equipment issuance and requirement gathering.
  • Monitor team activities and maintain access lists.
  • Coordinate internal and external activities to fulfill project and client requirements.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives and devise solutions to challenges within established policies.
  • Conduct self-assessments, surveillance appraisals, and audits, addressing any identified noncompliance issues.
  • Prepare and submit reports and documentation as required.
  • Provide mentorship to staff and subcontractors, training as a backup for critical functions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting-related field with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Extensive experience in:

  • Coordinating complex and diverse operations.
  • Establishing schedules to optimize program execution.
  • Assessing budgetary conditions and forecasts.
  • Tracking project progress using software tools.
  • Developing contracting mechanisms, including Statements of Work.
  • Collaborating closely with Procurement and Quality personnel for established contracts.
  • Serving as the primary liaison with external entities through effective communication.
  • Providing strategic input and guidance to leadership.

Applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy L clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship.
