Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients from the waiting area to the exam room, communicating any delays or extended wait times.
  • Review patient medical records and conduct pre-visit interviews to gather essential information.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
  • Document medical history and assess the need for referrals and prescription renewals.
  • Administer injections under the supervision of a provider and perform venipuncture and capillary punctures as needed.
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely updates via email, mail, or phone, as directed by the physician or allied health professional.
  • Conduct designated point-of-care testing, including electrocardiograms and throat cultures.
  • Assess living environments and subjective symptoms to identify potential issues and report to the provider as necessary.
  • Support and reinforce provider care plans and education, collaborating with the care management team and other community agencies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program or certification from a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Care Association (NHA), within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire.
  • One year of related job experience preferred.
