Position Overview
The Meat Cutter is responsible for the precise cutting, preparation, presentation, and sale of various meat products. This role is essential in upholding a positive brand image by delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and fellow Team Members consistently.
Key Responsibilities
• Skillfully cuts, arranges, and displays a variety of meat products including beef, pork, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat items such as sausages, ready-to-cook products, and cured meats.
• Oversees the sampling program to enhance customer experience.
• Monitors product freshness and takes measures to prevent spoilage.
• Provides mentorship and support to other Team Members.
• Arrives punctually at the workstation, well-groomed and ready for work; adheres to all scheduled shifts.
• Delivers exceptional customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and employing suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through effective procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Ensures compliance with established procedures, including health and sanitation standards, as well as safe work practices.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, ensuring equipment cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; verifies accuracy of signage and pricing.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
• Solid understanding of meat processing techniques and protocols.
• Exceptional cutting skills with the ability to produce and sell various cuts.
• Comprehensive knowledge of different meat cuts and cooking methods.
• Ability to visually assess products for quality and freshness.
• Experience with cooking on a Flat Grill BBQ.
• Capable of gathering market information and effectively communicating it to customers.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
• Ability to convey information clearly and respectfully to Team Members, customers, and vendors.
• Commitment to meeting customer service expectations in all interactions.
• Ability to stand and walk for 6-8 hours during an 8+ hour workday.
• Proficient in hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Comfortable working in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Skilled in handling knives and other cutting tools.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficient in using tools and equipment, including box cutters and electric pallet jacks.
