Job Title: Diagnostic Sonographer

Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Sonographer will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonography examinations using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to examine parts of the human body. You will work independently to operate sonographic equipment, perform and communicate the results of diagnostic examinations, and maintain a high standard of medical ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information, and medical history, and communicate findings to the proper physician
  • Coordinate work schedule with other related staff and supervisor, and/or schedulers to assure that workload is covered
  • Aid with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
  • Maintain a daily log of patients seen and complete exam billing forms
  • Participate in the maintenance of ultrasound laboratory accreditation
  • Establish and keep ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals, referrals, vendors, or commercial agencies
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferred
  • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate
  • Current BLS
Working Conditions:
  • Clinical setting is dimly lit and temperature-controlled, with standard medical and office equipment available
  • Work may require meeting tight deadlines
  • May need to stand for extended periods of time
  • May need to be able to lift and turn patients who are ill or disabled
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, stand and walk
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office and medical equipment
  • Must regularly talk, hear, and have close vision ability to record and communicate appropriate documents and records
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
  • Physically able to reposition patients and lift arms above shoulder level
  • Physically able to push a patient in a wheelchair
  • Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs
