Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Foreman to join our team at TelCom Construction, LLC.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction and supervision to crew members to ensure timely completion of construction projects
  • Implement efficient workflows to meet project deadlines
  • Perform tasks as an operator or laborer as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks and skid loaders
  • Set daily production goals and conduct daily walk-throughs to assess progress
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and monitor adherence to all safety procedures
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks to reinforce safety protocols and best practices
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports
  • Establish safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers, and may be required to flag traffic when necessary
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar position with a focus on crew leadership is essential
  • Experience in telecommunications is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and respectful direction
  • Proficiency in using locators to safely identify utilities
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Highly safety-conscious individual
  • Ability to effectively communicate with crew members, customers, and vendors
  • Basic computer skills required, with experience in Google apps considered an asset
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is essential
  • Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is advantageous (higher wage scale applies to CDL holders)
  • May be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or be on-call as needed to ensure work is completed
  • Travel is required
Physical Requirements:
  • Climbing up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects
  • Lifting/carrying 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance
  • Duties require standing, crouching, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding, or stooping while on shift
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed
  • Employees in this role may be exposed to dust, fumes, or other airborne pathogens
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces
  • Remote work may be required; long driving and sitting will be required
  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate
  • All work is outdoors, so employees in this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, which can include extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet, and dust, as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog
