- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, ensuring seamless transitions and accurate documentation.
- Use the nursing plan of care to guide daily assignments, reviewing and modifying the plan as needed under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, and behaviors, presenting proposed revisions to the care plan and desired outcomes.
- Deliver nursing interventions consistent with the stated medical plan of care, notifying the healthcare team of changes in patient status and recognizing potential care crises.
- Follow physician orders, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to infection control and isolation procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and properly, executing written physician orders for assigned patients.
- Assemble equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures, performing or assisting with procedures as needed.
- Document nursing care in patient records, adhering to internal controls and departmental policies.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse program and licensure/permit as a vocational nurse in the state of Texas.
- No experience required, but two years of experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
