Job Summary

Healthcare Staffing Plus is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a contract basis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients for appropriate treatment and developing care plans based on diagnosis. You will also implement and monitor patient care plans, perform advanced respiratory care modalities, and educate patients and families about their health conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment and develop care plans based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate patients and families about their health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Passionate about patient care.
  • Requires a minimum of two years of Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapy Pennsylvania state license.
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
