Role Summary: The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in patient care within the Operating Room, employing aseptic techniques while prioritizing the needs of surgical patients and embodying the core values of care, respect, and collaboration. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will engage in a comprehensive surgical care plan for assigned patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for surgical procedures by selecting necessary equipment and supplies based on preference cards.
  • Locate and manage essential surgical instruments and supplies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instrument reprocessing methods.
  • Assume the scrub role, ensuring readiness for surgical interventions.
  • Prepare surgical instruments and supplies for use during operations.
  • Fulfill basic postoperative responsibilities, including patient preparation for recovery.
  • Manage the preparation of equipment and supplies for surgical processing.
  • Ensure proper disposal of sharps and waste materials.
  • Conduct and document surgical counts accurately.
  • Initiate the cleaning process of the Operating Room.
  • Assist in the proper handling and delivery of surgical specimens.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma with training acquired through work experience or education. Preferred: Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.

Experience:

Required: Less than one year of relevant experience. Preferred: 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist.
