Starting at $10.00 per hour + up to $4.00 per hour in tips

POSITION OVERVIEW


As a Barista at Black Rock Coffee Bar, your primary responsibility will be to provide outstanding customer service, create high-quality beverages, and nurture positive relationships with your colleagues.

Your enthusiasm for coffee, keen attention to detail, and dedication to building genuine connections will ensure memorable experiences for every customer, fostering a strong sense of community and positively impacting the neighborhood.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Warmly greets customers and team members, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
  • Meets service speed standards while maintaining beverage quality and customer satisfaction, including third-party orders.
  • Prepares and serves a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages, as well as food items, utilizing retail equipment such as espresso machines and convection ovens.
  • Keeps work and customer areas clean and organized, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Promotes new coffee products and seasonal offerings to boost brand visibility and sales.
  • Handles cash and credit transactions accurately, including daily cash deposits when necessary.
  • Assists in training and mentoring new team members during their onboarding process.
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly tasks assigned by the management team.
  • Addresses customer complaints and resolves issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supports inventory management and restocks supplies as needed, including product displays.
  • Engages in line busting during busy periods to expedite customer orders, which may involve exposure to various elements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently during shifts with self-motivation and minimal supervision.
  • Consistently adheres to Black Rock Coffee Bar's policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Constant standing and walking for up to 8 hours to fulfill job responsibilities.
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crawling may be necessary.
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items up to 50 lbs.
Occasional use of ladders and ramps to reach elevated areas.
Frequent wrist and spine movement during beverage preparation and related tasks.
Consistently communicates and exchanges detailed information verbally.
Maintains clear vision for reading orders and engaging with customers.
Demonstrates accurate mental math skills for following recipes and processing cash transactions.
