St. Joseph's Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician to join our Family Medicine Residency Faculty team located in Syracuse, New York.
As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for:
- Following ACGME guidelines and assisting in the recruitment and selection of residents.
- Providing mentorship, teaching, and clinical oversight to residents, supporting scholarly productivity among residents.
- Maintaining collaborative relationships with peer educators, assisting in resident assessment and progression, and contributing to the success of strategic missions of the department and institution.
- Being a staunch advocate for the program and disciplines of family medicine and community health across the institution, regionally and nationally.
- Maintaining an active clinical practice, including seeing patients in their own primary care office, newborn, adult inpatient, and obstetrics, if desired.
The schedule for this opportunity is a traditional work week, Monday - Friday, with 50% clinical and 50% academic responsibilities. Inpatient services will be roughly five weeks per year, including OB coverage and newborn care. Call will be roughly 2-3 times per month.
RequirementsTo be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine.
- A current, unrestricted medical license in New York, or the ability to obtain one.
- A valid controlled substance registration with the New York board of Pharmacy & DEA.
- Preferably 2 years of full spectrum family medicine experience.
