We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our School Health Services team at Spokane Public Schools. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality health care to our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to students as assigned by the school nurse, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing first aid.
- Train and supervise school staff in the administration of oral medication to students and the performance of delegated nursing tasks.
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned by the school nurse, including vision and hearing screening.
- Assist with tasks involved in vision and hearing screening.
- Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
- Experience working with children and the community preferred.
- Experience supervising non-licensed persons preferred.
- Current first aid certificate preferred.
- Current CPR certificate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, teachers, parents, and administrators while maintaining confidentiality.
- Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Medical/Dental/Vision benefits through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.
- Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays.
- Most positions have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule, all in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements as negotiated.
Level 10 on the Educational Support Specialist Salary Schedule. Experience increments depend on experience in the same or similar permanent position within a Washington State public school.
