Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Cardiac Rehabilitation Coordinator to join our team at Steward Medical Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading exercise sessions at Phase II, III, and IV levels, as well as adult fitness classes, and will work closely with the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead exercise sessions at Phase II, III, and IV levels, and adult fitness classes
  • Assess patients for change in condition and communicate with MD in an effective manner
  • Use glucometer and analyze results, and act according to glucose policy
  • Read ECG rhythms, recognize changes from baseline, and communicate with MD
  • Perform ACLS and call 911 in an emergency situation
  • Teach patients about their condition and reinforce medication schedule and teaching
  • Incorporate evidence-based knowledge into decisions for the provision of safe patient care, and participate in the planning and provision of safety-related education
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the financial implications of materials, equipment, and human resources, and participate in budgetary process
  • Implement cost containment measures, and communicate budget considerations and provide feedback to staff members, physicians, and administrators as needed
  • Participate in data collection and research related to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
  • Incorporate current research, national guidelines, standards, and evidence-based practices to develop advanced clinical knowledge and improve Cardiac Rehabilitation's performance
  • Assist with facilitating staff compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, governmental regulations, and professional standards of care
  • Demonstrate effective communication with members of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team and other stakeholders within and outside the Steward Medical Group
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a BSN from an accredited nursing school
  • 3-6 years acute care and/or Cardiac Rehabilitation experience
  • ACLS/BLS certification required
