Job Title: Principal Environmental Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join our team at Eunomia Research & Consulting. As a key member of our North America-based team, you will provide technical leadership and direction in areas related to the circular economy, decarbonization, and the natural economy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to understand their needs and develop project methods and goals
  • Develop methodologies to answer complex questions related to the circular economy, decarbonizing supply chains, and other sustainability topics
  • Supervise technical teams, including developing technical work streams within a project, reviewing and guiding model designs, and approving technical outputs
  • Design and present deliverables to clients, focusing on key messages while providing clarity on assumptions and methods
  • Work flexibly on multiple projects at a time, applying expertise to various areas and demonstrating an ability to learn new ideas and topics at high speed
Requirements:
  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in undertaking material flows, policy, and program environmental, social, and economic cost-benefit impact assessments, environmental appraisals, and systems mapping
  • Management of quantitative work and assessments, knowledge of relevant data sources, and ability to interpret, validate, and manipulate data
  • Ability to develop complex systems-based models and apply systems thinking approaches to understanding problems and determining solutions
  • Senior-level experience gained in a consultancy setting, with a desire to support the further technical development of teams and commercial experience in business development and client management
  • Understanding of the impact of plastics in the environment and experience managing junior and mid-career professionals
  • Relevant experience of carbon accounting in Eunomia's core markets, particularly circular economy/waste and packaging materials production
  • Experience with GIS, Python, and R, as well as data visualization platforms
  • Experience of working within a consultancy business model and well-versed in public speaking, including webinars, and delivering technical content to diverse audiences

  • A 9-Day Fortnight working structure with office closure every other Friday
