About the Role

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our orthopedic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures from defined protocols, utilizing your expertise to deliver accurate diagnostic information.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure seamless communication and effective patient care.
  • Utilize radiation protection and shielding materials to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order, reporting any malfunctions to your supervisor.
  • Enter procedures on the superbill, maintaining accurate records and facilitating efficient patient care.
  • Complete pending radiologic procedures, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Import and burn CDs as needed for physicians and patients, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain examination rooms by stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Escort patients to and from waiting rooms and exam rooms, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Attend meetings and seminars as needed, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Certification as a radiologic technologist, with a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • A passion for patient care and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze situations and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Physical stamina to perform duties, including standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in radiologic technology, with a strong understanding of x-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program, with a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology.
  • AART certification, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Work Environment

The Radiologic Technologist will work in a clinical environment, with frequent exposure to radiation and interaction with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

Compliance

All employees are expected to comply with our organization's policies and procedures, adhere to our Code of Conduct, and complete required compliance training modules. The Radiologic Technologist will be expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
