Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Specialist to join our team at Alto Health Care Staffing. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Labor and Delivery unit.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor and delivery, utilizing your expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, leveraging your strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies, remaining calm and focused under pressure.
  • Prepare patients for labor and delivery and assist with the birthing process, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
  • Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding, providing exceptional care and attention to detail.
  • Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, utilizing your organizational skills to ensure seamless communication.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing, participating in ongoing education and training programs.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, with a focus on clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a strong commitment to patient care and safety.
