Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychometrist to join our team at Emory University. Key Responsibilities
  • Administer standardized developmental assessments to high-risk children up to age 6, including those related to cognitive, language, motor, social, and emotional development.
  • Score assessments accurately and interpret results to identify developmental delays or other areas of concern.
  • Observe infants during assessments and note any behavioral or emotional responses that may be relevant to their development.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing assessment results and findings for review by the clinical team.
  • Work closely with the clinical team, including pediatricians, occupational therapists, and other specialists, to develop comprehensive care plans for infants.
  • Provide guidance and education to parents and caregivers about the assessment process, results, and recommendations for interventions or follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, observations, and interactions with patients and families.
  • Serve as a resource of advanced psychometric and cognitive rehabilitation procedural knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, or a related field from an accredited school or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Two years of related experience, including administering and scoring standardized assessments for infants and young children.
  • Experience with measuring/tracking clinical outcomes, experience in clinical research is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong observational and assessment skills, with the ability to interpret test results accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and clinical teams.
  • Familiarity with ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements in psychological assessment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing timely documentation and records.
  • The ability to write a thorough report, detailing interpretation of test results and appropriate recommendations based on test findings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Personal adaptability and motivation.
  • Listening.
  • Compassion and empathy for working with high-risk infants and their families.
