Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Asphalt Distributor Operator to join our team at CRH. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for the application of asphalt and tack on highways, roadways, parking lots, and driveways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate asphalt distributor trucks to ensure efficient and safe application of materials.
  • Set spray bars on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors to apply liquid asphalt to designated areas.
  • Apply liquid asphalt with attention to detail and emphasis on craftsmanship.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to achieve crew goals and objectives.
  • Perform manual labor as needed, such as shoveling or raking, under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.
  • May oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • May perform other related duties such as shoveling, setting string lines, and adding or removing screed extensions.
  • Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
  • Ability to be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.
  • Ability to adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition as supplied by the company.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Commercial Driver's License Class A or B with tanker and hazmat endorsements required.
  • Ability to follow verbal instruction via crew foreman to assist in other positions if needed.
  • Ability to follow traffic control instructions and practice safety standards per company policy.
  • MVR must meet company standards.
