Job Overview

The Audio-Visual (AV) Commissioning Specialist plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of our AV Integration initiatives across diverse locations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all components of the AV system align with design specifications, performance benchmarks, and client expectations. The specialist also offers technical guidance to the sales team and works closely with the project manager to provide an outstanding AV experience for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Examine and confirm system flow diagrams, ensuring they are consistent with the Bill of Materials (BOM) and site requirements.
  • Conduct Labor Requirements Assessments based on site conditions and maintain accurate records.
  • Review final technical plans from the Computer Aided Design (CAD) team prior to implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to create a comprehensive Technical Scope of Work.
  • After project award, engage in meetings to discuss the Scope of Work (SOW) and BOM with the Project Manager.
  • Facilitate project modifications and updates to the BOM and SOW based on site conditions or project specifications.
  • Provide technical support in design, contract negotiations, material and labor estimations, and proposal development.
  • Regularly meet with vendors to assess project methodologies.
  • Deliver interdepartmental technical support to guarantee the successful delivery of AV solutions.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections locally or through travel to ensure optimal AV system functionality.
  • Offer warranty walkthroughs or on-site assistance as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in AV integration and specification.
  • Strong knowledge of AV design and performance standards.
  • Familiarity with D-tools or similar software is advantageous.
  • Experience with project management tools like MS Project is beneficial.
  • Proficiency with Procore or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to coordinate travel with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A CTS certification (CTS-D or CTS-I) from AVIXA is preferred, but not mandatory. One or both certifications will need to be obtained during employment with company support.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10+ days per month, alternating with contractors to balance time away and for PTO, sick leave, etc.
