We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Department team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Pediatric Emergency Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional care to infants, children, and adolescents, addressing their medical needs and supporting their families.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to determine the health status of patients, adhering to established standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff in accordance with established policies.
- Offer education and emotional support tailored to the patient's age, culture, condition, and circumstance, incorporating patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
- At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
- Previous Pediatric Emergency Department experience is preferred.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) is preferred.
St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with over 360 beds. The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
