Job Title: Field Mechanic A

Holt of California is a leading Caterpillar dealer, offering a wide range of equipment and services. We are seeking a skilled Field Mechanic A to join our team.

Job Summary

The Field Mechanic A will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all types of rental equipment, including driving to machine locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment mechanics and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain rental equipment, including driving to machine locations
  • Handle all types of field service calls
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear
  • Repair, overhaul, or replace pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
  • Replace carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors
  • Repair leaks in radiators
  • Repair or adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers
  • Work with ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels
  • Realign and adjust brakes
  • Write service reports
  • Order parts
Requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write service reports
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Compensation

Pay Range: $35.00 - $38.00 Hourly

Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
