Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, including ductwork, plenums, air devices, louvers, and air moving equipment.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch and drill presses to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Use spot welders, hand-held power tools, air hammers, and hand tools to assemble ductwork and other sheet metal assemblies.
• Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies on-site according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and portable power tools.
• Install air moving equipment, such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters.
• Inspect and test installations for conformance with project requirements.

Requirements

• Prior experience with sheet metal work in the mechanical/HVAC industry.
• Understanding of basic math.
• Ability to work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
• Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Perform a variety of duties that may change often.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
