Nemours is on the lookout for a dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapy Specialist (FULL-TIME) to become a vital part of our Therapeutic and Rehabilitation Services team. This role primarily focuses on providing exceptional care in an outpatient environment, specifically within our Pediatric Limb Lengthening Program, alongside general pediatric outpatient services.

Located in a state-of-the-art facility, Nemours Children's Hospital is a leader in pediatric healthcare, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of children. Our hospital is designed with families in mind, ensuring a healing environment that combines nature's tranquility with advanced medical care.
Position Overview:
This full-time position involves working closely with pediatric patients, particularly those undergoing limb lengthening procedures. The successful candidate will also manage a diverse caseload that may include orthopedic, sports medicine, and neurodevelopmental cases, depending on their expertise and interests. Comprehensive training will be provided in the specialized area of physical therapy for post-operative limb lengthening patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
- Deliver high-quality physical therapy services in accordance with physician prescriptions and departmental guidelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in pediatric physical therapy, ensuring competency in treating patients from birth to 21 years old.
- Engage in staff development activities, fostering professional growth and knowledge within the department.
- Mentor and support physical therapy students, new staff, and volunteers, enhancing the learning environment.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and research in physical therapy to provide evidence-based care.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives and collaborate with local partners to promote physical therapy services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as per departmental and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions regarding patient care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
- A minimum of three months of relevant experience is preferred; new graduates may be considered based on their educational background.
- Must possess a valid Florida State License to practice Physical Therapy.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification is required upon hire.
- Membership in professional organizations such as APTA or FPTA is preferred.
- Prior experience in pediatrics is advantageous.
- Availability for weekend shifts is necessary.
