About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Technician to join our team at Convergint. As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and testing fire and security systems, as well as providing technical support and training to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and test fire and security systems, including security cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on the use and maintenance of fire and security systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine installation requirements.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, and analyze performance.
- Write non-routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
- Act as a key interface for technical support with customers and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Mentor less-experienced staff and provide guidance on technical procedures.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in fire and security systems installation and maintenance.
- Strong technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Highly proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
