The Role

We are currently seeking a full-time CADD Manager to lead our Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) initiatives. This pivotal role will be based at our headquarters and will report directly to a Senior Vice President. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing our engineering standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of CAD operations, ensuring adherence to drafting standards and the development of a comprehensive details library.
  • Implement advanced procedures that incorporate the latest industry standards, equipping designers and engineers with essential skills.
  • Establish and uphold CADD standards that fulfill the requirements of various agencies within our client network.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to produce high-quality drawings and implement CAD quality assurance procedures.
  • Design and execute training programs for interns, new hires, and existing staff to enhance CAD proficiency.
  • Maintain industry-leading CADD standards for clients, including various transportation departments.
  • Manage software procurement and optimization, ensuring effective use of licenses.
  • Expertly navigate geospatial data, utilizing tools like ArcMap (ArcGIS) for engineering projects.
  • Provide ongoing support for software testing and troubleshooting related to engineering design and CADD programs.
  • Review CADD drawings for compliance with established standards and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for end-users needing assistance with software and project workflows.
  • Work closely with project managers to assign CADD standards to projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Continuously develop and reinforce CADD standards to guarantee project success.
  • Utilize the latest technology in design, including Autodesk, Revit, Civil 3D, and Microstation.
  • Advise management on program implementation and technological advancements.
  • Share technical knowledge and support across departments to ensure seamless engineering and design collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in CADD management within consulting engineering or architecture.
  • A degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MicroStation.
  • Strong leadership and training capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles and DOT standards.
  • Excellent communication and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
