Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a dedicated Malware Analyst to support our cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a representative for USCYBERCOM, delivering requirements and integration assistance for malware examination.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to comprehend malware behavior through dynamic analysis and reverse engineering methods.
  • Generate comprehensive malware reports to assist in identifying and mitigating potential cyber threats.
  • Support malware analysis efforts essential for the provision of Mission Assurance (MA) products, contributing to the evaluation and reporting of malware in cyberspace operations.
  • Provide updates on the progress of assigned Workflow Management System (WMS) malware tasks and engage in technical discussions to shape recommendations for malware analysis strategies.
  • Facilitate the development of System Security Plans (SSP) and provide certification and accreditation support for new malware analysis systems.
Qualifications:
  • Possess mid-to-senior level experience as a Malware Analyst, with expertise in advanced cybersecurity technologies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the governance and policy oversight of Malware Analysis activities.
  • Work under consultative guidance towards established Mission Assurance objectives; often self-initiated assignments.
  • Maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends related to computer and network vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct detailed research on software and methodologies to enhance both defensive and offensive capabilities for USCYBERCOM.
  • Execute system analysis, reverse engineering, and best practice methodologies for malware analytics across various platforms.
  • Exhibit comprehensive programming skills, including C/C++ and Assembly language, with a focus on vulnerability analysis and exploit development.
  • Develop malware detection frameworks and conduct vulnerability assessments of information systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in malware analysis or engineering.
  • Possess DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification, CSSP Incident Responder, or CSSP Infrastructure Support.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with source code, hex, binary analysis, and data correlation techniques.
  • Understanding of security concepts, protocols, and tools.
  • Ability to develop and analyze solutions for Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
