Job Summary

Goldman Edwards, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure architecture, design, and implementation.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure for the State Program Portal (SPP) project at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This role requires expertise in cloud technologies, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), to ensure the platform's scalability, security, and resilience.

Key responsibilities include architecting and maintaining cloud environments on platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on leveraging IaaS for scalable infrastructure management, PaaS for efficient application development and deployment, and SaaS for integrating external services where necessary.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will use infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate provisioning, configure infrastructure, and manage cloud resources. They will also implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions, and manage containerization and orchestration through Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistent, scalable application environments.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least 7 years of experience in cloud engineering. Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP are highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to staying up to date with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, edge computing, cybersecurity, and advances in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models are required to ensure the success of the SPP project.
